Safety Concerns while Aboard Celebrity Cruise Line Ships
Movies and media have given many people a different idea of what to expect when on a cruise. You’ll see people in movies hanging over the edge of the railings, running around the deck, and many other things that really aren’t safe in the real world. While on board any Celebrity cruise line ship, you may not climb on or over any kind of railing. Don’t play with any of the equipment, and don’t roughhouse on the decks or near the pools. These activities can be dangerous to yourself and others.
Personal Interactions
Even if you’re on a romantic honeymoon, you need to remember that you aren’t alone on the ship. You don’t want to act in a way that is going to be offensive. If you are offending other guests, you may be asked to leave the area, and you could be banned from future Celebrity cruises. Also be mindful of your language. You may be very open when you’re at home, but on a cruise you’ll be surrounded by people from many different background and cultures.
Smoking
Smoking is one of those issues that can really stir both sides. Smokers want to be comfortable, and non smokers don’t want to be near it. To try to make a policy that is comfortable for everyone, Celebrity has come up with a policy for this. For the most part, the ships are non smoking. However, since smokers do cruise, they will have designated smoking areas throughout the ship. Ashtrays are provided in these areas. Make sure you utilize these. Don’t be rude and leave cigarette butts all over the place. No one wants to clean this up, and if it ends up in the water it can be harmful to the ocean life.
For Parents
Many take cruise vacations as a family trip. This is great, but you need to make sure you can keep your kids in control. A cruise ship is like a playground for kids. There will be so much to see and do, that it can be overwhelming. An overwhelmed child tends to be an unruly one. To combat this, parents are asked to be with their kids at all times. You may use the babysitting services if you need some time alone, and the Celebrity cruise line offers this service. You can also sign your children up for different activities that will keep them otherwise occupied. Be respectful of the other guests, and try not to let your children run around unsupervised.
