Travel Documents
When you go to book your Walt Disney cruise, you will be given a packet that includes all the information you need to bring with you. You’ll need proof of citizenship, and some cruises may require a passport. If you are taking a cruise abroad the passport will be required. Some cruises also require a visa. You can usually apply for the visa online. You will also need to sign and return the cruise contract and payment authorization forms before you can board the ship. You can complete these documents online, but you’ll still want to print them out and have them with you. You will also find all other Disney cruise info you will need in the packets and online.
Bringing Cash
Everything you purchase on the Disney cruise ship during your Walt Disney cruise will be charged to your cruise account. So you won’t need any cash on the actual ship. However, you will want to have money when you take the different off boat adventures. In the Caribbean and Bahamas your U.S. dollars will be accepted. Your credit cards will also be accepted. For other locations it’s a good idea to bring travelers checks with you. Once you get to port you can exchange these checks for the local currency. Some of your credit cards may be used overseas, but they may charge you a fee each time you use it overseas.
Items Not Allowed on the Walt Disney Cruise
Just as airlines restrict what you can pack, the Disney cruise boat will as well. However, the restrictions aren’t as strict as the airlines. You can’t bring personal DVD players on board. You’ll have a DVD player in most of the staterooms anyhow. Video game consoles should be left at home. The Walt Disney cruise ship will have an area for children to play the latest video games in their arcade rooms. Personal snacks and beverages will also not be allowed if you pack them in a cooler. You can pack snacks and drinks as long as they are unopened and not in a cooler. Anything the kitchen needs to prepare will also be prohibited. If you have dietary restrictions, you can bring foods that are pre-packaged. No homemade foods or drinks are allowed. Skateboards, fishing gear, bikes, and kites should be left at home. Golf clubs and telescopes are allowed. You may want to bring your child’s favorite toys, and this is fine as long as they don’t resemble weapons. Real firearms are absolutely not allowed when you cruise Disney.
Information for Adults
A Walt Disney cruise isn’t just for kids. There are adult only places onboard the ship. You can find romantic restaurants that are for adults only. You will also find a pool, spa, and bar where kids are prohibited. You can enjoy some down time in one of the many adult only lounges. There are also adult only shore excursions, such as snorkeling available too. You can use the nurseries or day care facilities if you need some off time. You should book these services in advance when you book a Disney cruise since they are only available for certain hours every day and can only accommodate a certain number of kids. If you have enrolled your child in an activity, you will be provided with a pager to alert you if your child needs anything. This can give you peace of mind on your Walt Disney cruise vacation.
